What are the limitations, suggestions and ideas that managers have on organisational design in making communication more effective and overcoming the obstacles we have discussed? What is the nature of teamwork in their organisation? How does decision-making happen in the organisation? List the processes operational in the organisation. Are operations, in the organisation team based or individual-centric controlled by a chain of superiors or are they a mixture of both? How do supervisors or team leaders supervise employees and what is the incentive structure in the organisation? Does innovation reward employee commitment or is innovation a stand-alone activity. Does the organisation have horizontal or vertical linkages within and outside itself or both? What is the nature of relationships between different functional areas? Where is the customer positioned about the employees’? iv) Possible organisational settings You could study a service industry such as a hotel, a restaurant, a mall, bank or a manufacturing industry in and around.
