This assignment is to be discussed every week about half-an-hour during lab hours with the tutors. Students are required to configure a server using Windows Server 2016 by following all the requirements specified in the following two scenarios. Each group has to choose one scenario from the below given scenarios. Also, a user documentation report has to be submitted in word format on Moodle, which should contain the important steps of the configuration with respective screenshots. Also, there will be demonstration for the whole scenario in Week-11 lab class. The presence of all group members is mandatory.

Scenario1: (Windows Sever and Linux Client Environment)

There is a company called “XYZ” that needs to setup a LAN for the main office, which is located in Melbourne. The company has 30 users in total working in all departments. They have three different departments named Operations, Finance and Marketing. All objects belong to these departments should have their own different Organisational Units (OUs). The Clients require the following technologies to be implemented within their LAN:

Design a LAN Infrastructure for 30 users and determine the feasibility in your design for the number of Servers, Clients computers, Printers, Routers and Switches.User authentication.Create Organisational units based on department name and create two users for each department, show user roaming profile.Configure a DHCP to acquire automatic IP address.Configure an IIS web server for the company’s content management system (CMS).Set up a DNS (Domain Name Server). The Company also wants to store all the files on a separate file server. Only users with appropriate access will be able to access files on this separate file server.Implement password group policy.Scenario 2: (Windows Server with multiple domains)

There is a company called “GHI” needs to setup a LAN for the main office which is located in Melbourne. They have three different departments named Operations, sales and Marketing. All objects belong to those departments should have their own OU. There are 15 employees working in each department. The Clients require the following technologies to be implemented within their LAN:

Design a LAN Infrastructure for 45 users and determine the feasibility in your design for the number of Servers, Clients computers, Printers, Routers and Switches.User authentication for different domainsAll computers should acquire their IP addresses from a DHCP ServerThe Company should host a website, so a separate IIS server is also requiredSet up a DNS (Domain Name Server). The Company also wants to store all the files on a separate file server. Only users with appropriate access will be able to access files on this separate file server. There will be two different domains. One is allocated for the administrator and the other is allocated for everyone else.Your configuration should reflect the above criteria and display different privileges assigned to the different domains and also implement one group policy.Submission Guideline:

Your assignment should be completed according to the General Guidelines for Presentation of academic work. Your submission should contain the following:

1. Write a report by following a standard user documentation report template on the chosen scenario, which should include the following:

A short introduction about the project and server management.Design of the Network diagram (any software can be used such as Visio, Packet tracer etc.)Consider your choice of Centralized user authentication Vs Decentralised user authentication, implement one along with justification in report that why you selected that particular choice of authentication. Why we need IIS server in this project, are there any potential drawbacks of using it in project, justify your answer.Configuration steps of the whole project in detail.Proper labelled Screenshots from implementation along with figure numbers and captions.Any extra feature that you have added in your project or any difficulties you faced during your project, if any.Summarising the findings of the project.References in IEEE format.2. Documentation should follow the standard submission guidelines as follow:

Front page – indicating your Group members’ names and student IDs, teaching staff (Lecturer’s and tutor’s name), a statement of what has been completed and acknowledgement of the names of all assisted you.List of references used (IEEE style) – Reference sources must be cited in the text of the report and listed appropriately at the end in a reference list. Only IEEE referencing style is acceptable for this assignment.3. The assignment report must be submitted on Moodle in word format. The page numbers of the assignment must be clear on each page. The report document must be checked for similarity through Moodle/Turnitin while submitting it. Please refer to study skills unit staff if need further assistance. Please note that only one member per group should submit the report.

4. 15 minutes per demonstration in Lab, which will cover all the features mentioned within the scope of the given scenario. All the group members will have to demonstrate. If any member of the group fails to demonstrate, he/she will lose the demonstration marks.
