Harriet Jacobs in her book “Incidents in the life of a slave girl†discusses several issues, but the topic of racial prejudice has been given more emphasis. Racial prejudice was used to justify or validate keeping a certain group of people in a lower social class or at a subordinate position (Jayadev and Johnson 382). The writer narrates her personal experience as a slave.
According to Harriet’s book, slaves were exploited economically and politically to make them vulnerable. Based on this fact, research needs to be conducted to find out how racial prejudice can affect people socially in the modern world (Levy et al. 123). The study will concentrate more on how women are affected by this problem.
To investigate this topic, the study will assess secondary resources such as the book “Incidents in the eyes of a slave girl” other books and journals. This data collection technique will be supported by primary data sourced from surveys. Based on the insights gathered, the research will provide findings and recommendations that will help society to prevent racial prejudice.
