Tracking a project only means checking off the work that’s done, right?

Tracking of project includes checking off work but it is not only confined to that it also means management of project, measuring of performance and reporting of status regarding the tasks and activities achieved in project as results.
It also shows how well the plans are being executed and also helps in knowing what corrective actions could be taken up if the set targets are not achieved . It also in knowing the creditability of project manager and the efficiency of workers
