Hello Class and Dr. S.,
With technology today there has been a lot of steps taken to bring health records to the 21 century, this has made the concept widespead and meaningful in the use of functional electronic health records systems thats combined with a infrastructure for broad-based health information exchange and it will help improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of health care for everyone. This system help physicians to have access to patient information, and allowing faster and more accurate diagnosis, with this system it gives complete patient data helps to ensure the best possible care. This system gives patients access to their own information through having the patient portal that most doctor offices offer and you can set it up with your own login information and password and you can go in a see your own records and be able to set apointments and request refills on medications.
The system also gives patients the choice of sharing their information with family members securely if they would like or just keepfor their own personal use. When health organization have access digital medical records makes it possible to improve quality of patient care in a lot of ways by lefting doctors be able to make better clinical decisions with this access to full medical histories for patients such as new patients, returning patients, or patients who see a lot of different doctors or specialists. It helps with lab test, xrays, medication allergies and help doctors to be able tosend in prescription electronically to pharmacy so a patient can go straight and get their medication rather than waiting on the doctor to write a prescription and taking it to the pharmacy and waiting on them to fill it.  This heps make efficiency, pravicy data storage and record accessand the cost of using this system away of saving the organization time and money with being able to make this system to make things better with providing  care for all patients and for the organization.
