What are Human Rights and who is responsible for protecting them?

Human Rights are such moral rights in itself that are believed to belong to every person. Such rights are protected in the shape of various Federal and International law and is to be granted to a person right from the birth of person to its death. Human Rights are also such rights that cannot be revoked from any person irrespective of the type of person he or she is or the lifestyle the person prefers to live with, although there are certain Human rights that are restricted as well, subject to certain conditions of law.
For the members of United Nations, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is responsible for protecting the Human Rights. Further, there are general International Human Rights standards as well, which every country has an obligation to protect its citizens with as their collective responsibility. In United States, the concept of sovereignty has also been merged with a form of unilateral responsibility in order to protect the rights of the citizens of the State.
