Like in Unit 1 and Unit 2 Discussion Forums, you are expected to participate often and engage in deep levels of discourse, and please remember to post your initial response as early as possible so that your colleagues can respond to your post. Again, like in Unit 1 and Unit 2 Discussion Forums, you are required to post an initial response to the question/issue presented in the Forum and then respond to at least 3 of your colleagues’ initial posts.  Please be sure that you also respond to colleagues who have responded to you.

For Unit 3 Discussion Forum you are to pick a local brand (from your city, region, or country) that has been very successful competing against bigger global brands in its product category and then answer the following questions:

· Explore and determine if the local brand you picked has a well-defined and executed brand strategy?

· What are the elements of the local brand strategy that enabled it to achieve this success?

Submit an initial quality post in which you discuss and defend your list of elements with your colleagues.

Your Discussion should be a minimum of 250 words in length and not more than 750 words. Please include a word count. Use APA citations and references for the textbook and any other sources used.

Read the article: “A Real-Time Case Analysis” and then perform a case analysis that covers the following questions:

· In your own words, what is Volkswagen’s Strategy in 2018 that was originally announced in 2008?

· What do you believe were the most important key elements of Volkswagen’s Strategy 2018? Where did they fail?

· In order to execute Strategy 2025 (which supersedes Strategy 2018) in response to an emissions scandal, do you believe what was suggested in the article is the best approach? Supported by credible resources, discuss why it is the best approach or propose a better approach.

· Discuss whether the overarching vision driving Volkswagen’s Strategy 2025 is clear and whether the approaches they are taking will help them achieve it. Why or why not?

· Are the initiatives designed to transform certain areas of Volkswagen’s core business achievable that are outlined in their strategy 2025? Why or why not?

Read the  General Guidelines for Case Studies  before beginning this assignment.

Submit a 2-3 pages case analysis, (including the title page and reference page) double-spaced in Times New Roman font which is no greater than 12-points in size. Paper and all citations should be in APA format.

Papers will be assessed using this rubric.

Portfolio Activity Unit 3

A well-defined brand strategy is significant for firms with expansion goals. Also, a strong brand could be a powerful tool for a competitive edge to large or small companies.

· With this in mind, list four benefits of a strong brand to business organizations.

· We live in an ever-increasing globalized society. Reflect on the challenge of global branding.

· What are the benefits of globalizing a brand?

· What are the unique challenges to this type of branding and in your opinion, which areas of the world pose the bigger challenges and why?
