how can policies made in health care be able to aid in prevention sex traffucking in the united states
introduction
“South Carolina social works and the results were that the participants had very little to no training in domestic sex trafficking of minors or how to provide service to the population” (McClerklin-Motley, 2019)
Thesis: Current policies regarding sex trafficking in Homeland Security are not adequate to handle the human component of sex trafficking causing more damage to the victims then necessary. New policies need to make that allows health care providers to discretely and safely help victims.
Little to no training in police and social workers compared to health care providers
Lack of information and inaccurate understanding about human trafficking makes more comprehensive policies a lot harder than make.
human trafficking is a very serious public health issue and has a long-term physical, mental, social, and economic consequence for survivors, Healthcare providers play a crucial role in identification and care of the victims.
