Reference List
The Reference List must be on a new page and is not included in your word/page limit. Note that the formatting for APA 6th style Reference List has an indent for subsequent lines for each reference.
When you’ve completed a reference citation, just press ‘Return/Enter’ to start on your next reference.
Remember to have your reference list in alphabetical order by first Author’s surname. Keep the library Subject Resource Guide open and handy when completing your reference list to ensure accuracy (under ACCESS tab on library homepage) in regards to those pesky full stops, commas, order of citation information, and what parts are in italics font.
The Reference List should only include those articles/books/resources that you have directly cited in the body of your assignment. Don’t include other sources you may have read on this topic – those would only be included if this was a Bibliography.
You may wish to use a citation management program such as Endnote to place citations and organise Reference List (available to download for free via Refencing section under LEARN tab on library homepage), however this will require extra time to learn how to use. You may find it easier for your first assignment (with only a handful of references) to just type them out yourself.
