Assignment 2: The Ideation Process
Final Project Part 1
Technology is made to be accommodating to the user’s needs. As for contemporary applications, they are usually produced to assist or entertain. A process to create and invent is called ideation; without the ability to collaborate or individually think of ideas, all creations would come to a halt. When thinking of an application, it is competent to take a fresh look at the users and recognize if it agrees with a particular group. Having a focus signifies an assistive factor as it provides a referential audience to clarify all strategic loopholes discovered on the way to the final app version.
Furthermore, the ideation process of mine has been shifting from generating, then filtering, and finally validating particular ideas. In particular, some considerations assumed that runners working on running performance grow from improving the natural stride technique. In turn, opponents believe that runners get progressed from redrawing their techniques and running habits, plus increasing efficiency due to different examination and improvement (White, 2017). It does not matter what opinion one has regarding this subject. The foremost point is whether one understands the strengths and weaknesses of their level. After all, this understanding marks the first step on the path to improving the running technique.
My ideation process has led me to the application concept targeting the military and runners. In order to stay in the Army, one has to reach a specific two-mile run time. For a considerable amount of times, this is not done on a track but done on the road. Running applications that have already been created can tell users one’s time, distance, and pace, but the question is whether they can coach. Respectively, a coaching option embodies a new concept to the running application to be ultimately marketed for those who serve in the Army Forces.
The processes in creating such an application can be tedious, starting with how to create an idea better than before, and sequentially coming up with something better through working and collaborating. First, trying to make something better than before never works out when it comes to creating an application. A much more efficient way is to create something more user-oriented (Vos, Janssen, Goudsmit, Bovens & Lauwerijssen, 2015). The latter requires an in-depth look into the psychological-cognitive space of contemporary times. Apparently, anxiety and fear will occur as the mostly met sensations-feelings. These two notions are especially not welcomed in service as a member of the Army Forces because they disturb and steal the concentration.
Hence, some alternative concepts considered through the process comprised the development of not coaching but mental training option in the running app. For sure, it is recommended to maintain the inner health of the mind in a no less good form than the physical. One of the approaches is listening to peaceful music regularly, following the app recommendations (Jujara, Lee & Song, 2019). Eventually, being attentive and not distracted by feelings of anxiety and fear denote the vital ones for staying alive in critical situations during the actual serving as a soldier on the battlefield or conduction special operation for the government. Be able to hold oneself together immediately might help not only to stay alive by oneself but rescue others.
Therefore, to overview the selected concept of couching in the running up app that can assist to the Army service people, the next should be stated. The couch appliance, except the standard running and scheduling functions, will be able to record and then playback in slow motion the running technique of the service person. Recording in compliance with the real laws of perspective will help one in analyzing their running technique. Additionally, such applications will assist with learning and developing the technique of stride, adjusting the gait, technique of jogging, running for short and long distances. The ability to train a two-mile run time required for preserving the contract with the Army (with consideration of individuality) constitutes the most crucial moment.
The coach application will help in reducing energy costs and improving performance while running. The app will incorporate recording video with the effect of a circular view, and then re-playing in slow motion. It is useful for obtaining a picture depicting one’s running skills without unnecessary editing of problematic spots. To use the application, the user should get someone (a trainer, friend, or relative) to keep rolling and taping how the one is walking. Then the application will play the recording in slow motion, and one will be able to quickly test and establish the characteristics inherent to their running form and equipment. Then the user is recommended to change their stride technique a bit and again ask someone to tape it on the video via the app. The results can be entirely unexpected, but sure practical to couch oneself for being in shape and prepared to be on duty.
