Human
Nature and Conduct
Human conduct is
influenced by his instinctive attributes that stipulates what is needed to be
done. Provocative actions by individuals cause harm to human nature and results
to negative effects to his or her livelihood as well as coexistence. The article
stipulates some of the efforts by human beings to change their nature. It is a
futile adventure because human beings do not change only their behavior is
susceptible to change. It is also prevalent to attempt to have changes in terms
of moral interventions because they have already developed especially to the
older generation. This is the reason as to why aboriginal nature of human
beings is deeply rooted into their behavioral system. The need to satisfied
human want leads to an inevitable human struggle. This is where human beings
find it hard to work, they feel uneasy while working but because they have to
eat it is a must they struggle to make ends meet. This means that people react
in reference to their nature. The need to rule over others by imposing changes
to human nature results to war.
The article is
important in understanding the political struggle in most countries that aim at
achieving economic and social power. This will derive changes by influencing
the affected parties to change their human conduct to align to the expected
standard. It explains the theory of war and how it changes the nature of human
acts with regards to his or her possessive power. It is therefore important in
realizing the potentials in me and realizing the origin of work. In this case,
one will appreciate work and not to view it as a struggle to meet the basic
needs.
The
Place of Intelligence in Conduct
Habits in human
beings are learned from successive conducts of a particular activity. The
articles talks about the place of knowledge in determining a person conduct.
Knowledge is acquired in the process of carrying out various duties. This forms
ground for intelligence gathering and influence in performing specific actions.
Where knowledge is not applied in performing an action, the results will be
rendered be in the wrong direction since its consequences were not well thought
of unlike in a situation where knowledge was applied. The outcome of
undetermined action is influenced by past actions that are definite and real.
Intelligence responds to predetermined events in a series of occurrences where
the result is anticipated in advance. Morality of an action in this case is
determined by the application of intuitive knowledge in performing an act (Dewey 190). Unity
is central to this process and the activities of different organs in the brain
are unified by logical psychological habits. This can be compared to the human
body where every part is very crucial in performing normal duties for the
overall good. Creating harmony is also paramount to enhance progress.
This article is
extremely beneficial to me in the sense that I am able to fathom the mystery
that surrounds critical and intrinsic thinking capability. Intelligence is one
of the inherent components of a person thinking system that allows him or her
thinks abstractly. In absence of intelligent thinking, one is more likely to
repeat past mistakes and actions that are often inaccurate. Thus, it is crucial
to understand the work of intelligence in making decision in our lives that
affects our coexistence with one another.
