Create one list of 5 of the most important non-moral values in your field of study (discussed on p. 98; aesthetic values, scientific values, economic values, and instrumental values)
For each value listed, explain in a sentence or two why it is one of the most important to your field of study.
EXERCISE ONE – give one example of an action from your own field of study that would violate the above formulation of Kant’s Categorical Imperative (that is, an action that would treat someone merely as a means to one’s end). Explain how it violates the Categorical Imperative.
EXERCISE TWO – for the action in 1, think of an ethical principle that we could be included in a professional code of ethics for your field of study, maybe even to hang on the wall at your future place of employment – each principle should forbid the action you explained in 1.
