You asked me to explain something I do that is creative that would be cooking with anything in the kitchen basically making recipes from what’s in the kitchen. pantry or refrigerator or freezer, but I am famous for my “Madisonville Texas Pot-Roast “. Let me tell you mouth-watering yummy to the tummy.
Madisonville Texas Pot-Roast:
*Recipe
* Serves 10-12
* ingredients
* Meat 5 lb Chuck Roast
*Produces
8 Pepperoncini
1 Green bell pepper
½ White onion
*Baking & Spices
2 Brown gravy mix dry
2 Hidden valley ranch mix dry
*6 tbsp butter unsalted
*Liquids ½ cup water
Place all items in the roasting pan and cover with foil seasonings on top and bottom onions and bell peppers over the top and the sides and the yellow peppers.
*Cook time
4 hours at 375
*Serve
Over rice
Yummy to the tummy!!
I made this up from what I had left in my kitchen or Sunday dinner. That’s family time we all slow down and play catch up from our busy week.
To feel more comfortable being creative I would need to explore recipes from other cultures and introduce my family to new things so that when they’re in the world my children will be well rounded with food and tasting. I can learn this hands on because that’s how you learn best.
The macro cultural factor allows me to gain a more in-depth way of using my cooking and creative skills in the kitchen and I mean anybody’s kitchen.
The microcultural factor I will not always cook what I know, but try a new way to enhance things that are not my family’s favorite recipes.
How my creative and academic endeavors are the same, well for me it’s easy to explain HANDS-ON learning and trying different ways of doing some and adding on to my learning as I master a concept! That’s very clear and relevant Learning skills.

Explain something you do or have done in your life that is creative.
Growing up I was never encouraged to do anything proactive because I lived in a house of 8-9 other people. I usually found other ways to keep a positive mindset in a place chaos. I would read a lot and found creative ways to change the story to my liking and fantasize how it could better my current life situation.
I soon then turned to creating dramatic scenes with my Barbie’s. This includes and is not limited to dressing them up, creating elaborate Barbie house with book shelves or finding a little storage area and turning it into my own little palace and putting performances on for my sisters or anyone who would watch me play.
After growing out of playing with dolls, real life settle in and I realized it wasn’t so glamorous, so I turned to writing. I wrote and a lot, mostly about what was happening in my life and would God ever save me from the mess I was in. Then I turned to creative writing which I was able to create a world that I deemed better.
Describe the skills you needed to learn in order to feel comfortable and competent creating these things, ideas, or concepts
I never got a any professional training, but this was a way for me to get creative or use the creativity that was in me and turn them into stories that hopefully others could relate to. Currently I write short stories or poems, but for the most part they are my thoughts on what I perceive in life. I started by reading more and branching out and learning about different authors, researching what they did in the beginning of their journey. This helped me discover how I could go about channeling my thoughts.
Describe some of the macrocultural factors you believe contributed to your decisions to keep practicing and participating in your creative endeavors.
Some of the macrocultural factors that contributed to my decision to write are: It was a great way to channel energy in a positive way. Even though sometimes it did not make sense to others, it resonated with me a special time in my life where I was evolving from certain behaviors. I learned how to express myself through my writing.
Describe some of the micro cultural factors you believe contributed to your decisions to keep practicing and participating in your creative endeavors.
What contributed to me was watching other people perfect their craft. Weather it was drawing, painting and writing, it should me that that other people like me existed. My struggles were similar to theirs and I could turn to them for advice when I have writers block. They reassure that its normal and show me different practices to relax and think. Doing this has allowed me to look at certain areas in my life that has room for improvement.
Explain how learning the skills that define your creative endeavors are different from or the same as the manner in which you learned academic skills.
The skills that define my creativity are similar and different in the way I learn academically in several ways. First, being a writer allows me to channel my thoughts and usually requires concentration and quiet time. I prefer to be alone. Academically I prefer to be by myself, which shows that I am an independent learner. Hence, why online academia works perfect because I am not distracted as I would be in a traditional classroom setting. It differs in a way that when I do struggle with certain subject I need extra time one on one with my tutors which I cannot gain from online classes. Though, it is challenging it goes a long way in the end when I tell my final story of how a single mom with so much on her plate was able to make something of herself. That’s a story many women or young girls will be able to identify with sadly. It is my belief that all stories have an ancestry to someone’s truth.
