Assessment task 4: Critical Evaluation, Peer Review and Reflection of a Clinical Teaching Plan
Weight: 50%
Length: 2000 words +/- 10% (excluding references and appendices). 17-19 references lest (excluding references and appendices), reference guideline on APA 7th edition.
Intent: to critically evaluate and give and receive constructive feedback on your teaching session and those of your peers. By presenting your teaching session to a group of people (NB due to social distancing this currently may have to be an imaginary audience) and using relevant literature you will have the opportunity to critically evaluate your own, and two of your peers, planned teaching sessions. You are required to receive formal peer feedback about your teaching your peers and then reflect on this along with what you have learned from watching your peers teaching sessions. This assignment provides you with an opportunity to evaluate your development as a clinical educator.
You will need to incorporate the feedback from your three appropriately qualified colleagues into the assignment and explain how you used this feedback, and how you will use it in the future. Please note – if you don’t agree with the comments made by your assessors, please address this in your submission. In your evaluation, you will address the following (ensure you have seen the marking criteria):
The theoretical principles (on teaching) on which your clinical teaching session was based The factors which could either enhance or impede teaching and learning in your teaching session The criteria against which you will evaluate your clinical teaching session
