Each and every professional possess some kind of a license or document which actually certifies the individual of his profession and the license that we are talking about is defined by the government or an organization which deals with such a profession. The United States of India has always been a country which has set examples to the world and even in this context it has contributions of its own. Majority of the states in the United States does not allow unlicensed persons calling them as engineers and it is unlawful if any engineering service is provided without a license of a certification of the same stature. There are some basic needs in order to apply for the license and after the basic requirements are fulfilled the authorizing body assess and analyze the needs in order to grant the license.
The individual has to complete his education in the required field of engineering from a recognized and affiliated university which will give him a degree at the end of the course and this degree is the first phase or the first step by which the person may receive his professional rights. Once the conventional education is complete the respective state in which the education is complete decides the procedure and also the next step which is applicable. The procedure varies to some extent but the basic process is almost the similar. So, after the degree is complete the applicant has to go through a written test named Fundamentals of Engineering which will assess the basic concepts of engineering that should be present in the applicant. The applicant may also have to go through a internship process in some states. The next step is obtaining the required experience in the profession and be able to use the knowledge in the various areas which demands. The last and final step is the stream or discipline specific test known as the Principles and Practice in engineering which will test the knowledge of the applicant in the specific discipline.
In order to achieve experience and recognition internship is a very good option to avail because that will provide a hands on experience of the work that the individual needs to do and that will help the individual in achieving the respective experience in the field. The management aspect can also be learnt through preparation of various organizational reports and plan. The business aspect of the organization or any project needs to be known which will help the individual in relating the technical aspects with the business aspects.
