Literature Review – Proposal Guidelines
Objective
The goal of writing a proposal is for you to organize and collect your preliminary ideas about your literature review. Through the process of writing your proposal, I hope you will raise questions that you’d like to answer and map a research plan.
Assignment
Address the issues listed below:
- Identify your Topic
- What areas of language development are you interested in researching? (For example, are you interested in learning more about emergent literacy practices to support second language learners?)
- What is a question or series of questions that you have about your topic?
- Background
- Explain your interest in the topic or question. How and why are you personally invested? What do you already know about it?
- Significance
- Explain why your topic and question is worth researching and answering. What do you hope to learn?
- Identify what readings, discussions, and/or videos from class piqued your interest in pursuing further research.
