San Francisco and Los Angeles

There are a lot of cities in the United States, and I have chances to visit some

beautiful cities in America. Each city has its own geography, beauty, culture, and

cuisine. However, San Francisco and Los Angeles are the most beautiful cities that I

have traveled to.

San Francisco (SF) and Los Angeles (LA) are located in California where I am

living. I have been living in Garden Grove for four years. My home is 35 miles from Los

Angeles and 423 miles from San Francisco. The Colonists from Spain founded San

Francisco in 1776 and Los Angeles in 1781. Now, both of them are big cities in the

United States and adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. However, San Francisco is located in

Northern California while Los Angeles is in Southern California. San Francisco covers

an area of about 46.89 square miles, and 469 square miles is an area of Los Angeles.

San Francisco is the 15th-most populous city in the United States , and the fourth-most

populous in California , with 9.67 million residents in 2018. Los Angeles is the

second-largest metropolitan area in America. There are 3,847,400 people living in the

city, and over eighteen million people in the L.A. region. The climate in L.A is a

mediterranean climate. The weather in L.A is usually warm and dry during the summer,

and it is mild and more rainy in the winter. The climate in S.F is warm-mediterranean

climate, with moist mild winters and dry summers

There is an interesting thing about the city’s tectonic plates and rough ground

geography and since Los Angeles is at a close distance with the San Andreas Fault. It

brings Los Angeles and San Francisco 2.5 inches closer together each year. The

similarities of these cities are hills, high buildings, many freeways, and heavy traffic. The

morning and the evening are around the time of traffic jams. It is very difficult to move in

the city at this time. Both cities have mountains, slopes, and coastal roads. Moreover,

China’s Town is also located in both cities where we can find Asian cuisine. Los Angeles

and San Francisco are the most expensive cities in the United States. Houses in these

cities are really expensive. You have to pay at least $600,000- $800,000 to have a

regular house, or over a billion-dollar for a house on the hill. Beautiful scenery is the first

thing you can find in these cities. That is why I really like to visit two cities.

The US Bank Tower in LA is the tallest building in California where you can have

a panoramic view of the city. On the other hand, you can visit Hollywood Sign where

many people choose to hike and look at LA far away. If you visit L.A, you should visit

Beverly Hills where many billionaires and famous people choose to live. That is a

beautiful hill. Los Angeles is called the Film Capital which produces many blockbuster

films. When we mention L.A, we would be missing if not to mention the Walk of Fame.

There are more than 2600 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars embedded in the

sidewalks along fifteen blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks Vine Street in

Hollywood. This place always attracts tourists round the year. Indeed, there are a lot of

beautiful places that we can visit in L.A such as Universal Studios Hollywood,

Disneyland Park, Griffith Observatory, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and Santa

Monica Pier.
