and at least one outside resource .select a region outside of the US
and compose an essay that addresses the global perspective about one identified health issue and
vulnerable population.
The written paper will consist of the following information -7 pages (includes title and reference
pages), complete sentences using APA format.
Paragraph 1: Introduction
Selected population of interest- Include a brief discussion of your selected vulnerable
population of interest.
Region of interest and identified country within this region- Using WHO website, first select a
region and then select a country of interest. Must write about a country outside of United
States. Briefly introduce this population as found in this country.
Brief statement of information – Provide a brief statement using information from Healthy
People 20/20 as it relates to your population of interest.
Keep in mind—
Healthy People serves as the foundation for prevention efforts across the United States. It is part of the
U. S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Healthy People support HHS efforts to create a
healthier Nation. There have been 4 previous Healthy People initiatives starting in 1980. Healthy People
2020 focuses healthcare institutions and agencies on reaching higher levels of wellness and health
prevention for their patients. Healthcare professionals should be aware of its existence and what the
2020 initiatives are for their specialty area. Now you will have the opportunity to extend the resources
to health needs of a global population. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World
Health Organization share information and resources for population health. These websites might be a
resource for this assignment as well.
Paragraphs 2 and 3: Discussion of Health Issue within Identified Population of Interest
Identify the health issue, include risk factors, incidence and prevalence.
Include information such as how the issue is being addressed in the identified country,
socioeconomic, health disparities/incivilities and gaps in practice
Include statements describing the vulnerable population, current care practices and
government policies and initiatives that are in place – To find this on the WHO website, click on
the information of the country and search for your identified health issue. If you are not able to
find any information about your identified health issue or vulnerable population, simply click on
another county within your identified region.
Include statistics – Create a table or chart as appropriate.
Paragraph 4: Evidence based practice related to the identified health issue
Search CINAHL full text and insert the following terms: Global health, (selected region),
(identified issue). See below screen shots for suggestions.
Find at least one article that provides information about your topic and/or vulnerable
population.
Briefly describe how this information relates to your global health issue. Include evidence-based
approach to prevention and treatment of the health issue.
Paragraph 5: Summary
Summarize the identified health issue, vulnerable population and country used for this paper.
Evaluate the effectiveness of the main interventions already in progress that address the health
issue and add suggestions that are likely to be effective in resolving this Global Health Issue.
