One of the responses to this story was that it should be used to glorify God. I agree with this response. God is the giver and creator of all things living and non-living. Therefore, we are supposed to use the words given to us to glorify him. We are in this world as stewards and stewardess of what has been bestowed upon us by the Lord. A good steward is one who diligently manages the property or whatever is given unto them.
In the case of Dave and Bonnie, they have been blessed with an inheritance land and also money to build on the property, but they are in a dilemma on what to do. Dave views this on the dark side and feels like enough is never enough. Bonnie feels they should use this piece of land to spend quality time with each other and also as a way to bless their children’s childhood. I think that Dave is fussing over nothing. They have received a blessing, and they should not refuse. Not all people accept this kind of grace and so he should be happy about it. Furthermore, God does not give you something that you cannot handle. There’s a good reason as to why he was the inheritor of the piece of land and money.
This piece of land can be used for so much in God’s glory. Embracing the blessing is a significant and better step in their lives. The first way they could use it in God’s glory is by using it as a family home. A place where they can build up their family. This lakeside home would a perfect place where the family can get away and bond. Not only bond with each other but also as a way to recreate a relationship with God. Taking a break from healthy daily life is suitable for an individual to regain their strength and strengthen their relationship with God.
Another way this piece of property would be used for God’s glory is that the land could be used for church retreats and camps. Dave and Bonnie can offer their inherited piece of land to host church retreats where the church members can fellowship together and have a little bit of fun. The property can also be used for church camps. The children of the church can come and spend a weekend there where they are taught more about the Lord, and they have time to create their relationship with God and also have time to mingle with the other kids. If the couple does not want to live there, they can also give it up for an excellent course like a shelter home or build houses for the homeless.
I have given just but a few ways in which this family can put into use the land they have inherited. This land is a blessing, and they should not turn it down. The correct use of this land can turn into more benefits for the family and other people around the family. There is undoubtedly a reason why they received the, and they should embrace it and find a way of using it well. The piece of property should be used in a way that glorifies the Lord. I, therefore, agree with the comment that property should be used to worship the od since he is the one that gives.
