Introduction: Brief summary of Godot and how it deconstructs Aristotle’s Poetics.
Thesis: Deconstructing the play in terms of one of the literary theories.
First Body Part: First, present the structural binary of the theory in the play.
Second Body Part: Then, discuss how the structural binary doesn’t exist or doesn’t matter in the end.
Conclusion: Explain the value of the play to contemporary audiences.
So, now that you understand the organization of the essay, let’s focus on Content. In each part (maybe not in the conclusion but definitely in the introduction and body parts to your essay), make sure to find two characters and find passages that support your analysis. Again, make sure that the quoted passages are relevant to the argument you are making, that it is set up clearly with proper transition, explaining the context of the passage, and that it is quoted and cited correctly.
