Assignment 1: Self-Assessment and Analysis
Topic: Healthcare Informatics Competencies
As informatics and technology tools continue to emerge and evolve in the healthcare setting, it is becoming increasingly important for healthcare workers to have informatics competencies. The textbook presents domains for informatics competencies (p. 13), and a self-assessment (pp. 15-17).
For this assignment, download the self-assessment provided on the assignment 1 self-assessment page, and complete the assessment by scoring yourself on each competency using the scale provided. Once you have taken the self-assessment, write a paper in which you:
- analyze your level of competency in each of the four domains, and
- discuss how you plan to improve your level of competency in each area.
- For items you scored yourself as proficient in, discuss how you might help others in your workplace improve their competency in those area(s).
Your analysis should be at least one full page in length. Submit the self-assessment form and the analysis to the assignment page.
Format your analysis consistent with APA guidelines.
When completing your assignment, be sure to follow these additional instructions:
