independence. Terrorism has also succeeded through attacks that are directed to
high profile symbolic targets. This incited counter-terrorism by a nation to
polarize its population. It is sad to note that the victims who are affected by
these terrorists’ activities are the innocent civilians in a state. Terrorism
is also a common approach that was applied by Al Qaeda during their attack that
took place on September 2001, which was targeted to invade the United States.
It is clear that these terrorism attacks are successful when their objective is
to draw international attention that undermines struggles of a state.
Study
indicates that terrorist organization do not choose terrorism to attain its
political effectiveness. This implies that the victory of terrorists’
activities is motivated by a desire for social solidarity. Additionally, this incorporates
other members of their organization rather than the strategic objectives or
political platforms that are mostly undefined. Based on the views that are
given by some terrorists, these terror campaigns have succeeded because they
are induced by revenge against nations that do not abide by their actions. Terrorism
operation has succeeded when criminals hide behind religion with wrong motives

aspect that indicates why terrorism succeeds is that the Federal Bureau of

and other tactics of executing these terrorists’ plans (Burke 64). Reports further indicate that since September
2001, the FBI has claimed triumph in war on terror. However, every time a
domestic terror suspect is arrested, the public is informed that another
horrific plot has been averted. Through the investigative journalists, it is
clear to the public that majority of suspects who are arrested due to terrorism
could not have been part of the violence. This is if the FBI to assist them in
executing such acts did not give them.
Arguments
concerning the reasons why terrorism succeeds indicate that the US government
is responsible for financing and hatching plenty of terrorists’ plots. In
addition, research indicates that this government is the leading in contrast to
other groups. For instance, while formulating a terrorism plot, the government
is involved when they bomb a location with suspects whom they know. During the
sting of the operations, their involvement is evident when the government ultimately
prosecutes target of the sting operation. This is based on their involvement in
being part of the terror activity through the actions that they take.

organizations. This is because they are motivated by diverse ideologies that
lead to success in violence. Terrorism is also successful because it
incorporates techniques that provide motivation to other groups with interest
to obtain change in politics. The chances of success in terrorism can be small
for weak groups who encounter powerful opponents. However, there is possibility
that when such small groups continue to rely on terrorism, their plots could
not turn into success.

across the globe. If terrorism is a successful tactic that groups adopt, this
means that success also come around due to terrorism (Hogan 202).
