Patient case 1. The dentist should cement a fixed brace on Leosom which is 11 years old.
- What material can be used to cement the brace with? Why? (justify the answer)
Patient case 2. You should take imprints (dental impression) for study models / imprint models.
- What materials do you use? Why? (justify the answer)
Patient case 3. You are investigating Britt-MarieÅkesson and have discovered caries at 36mo, 37o, 47mod and 48o manifest caries at the examination. The dentist should now fix it.
- What material (s) do you choose and fix it with? Why? (justify the answer)
Case 1.
You have a child in pre-school age who has caries in the primary bite (milk teeth) of 54d. The dentist will come in to you and will carry out repair with materials that you have prepared beforehand.
- What material do you prefer to use to fix your teeth?
- Motivate the choice of material! Also explain what your thoughts are?
- Do we need to fix this? Describe why we should fix it?
Case 2.
Bosse has been at his regular dentist and dental hygienist regularly for many years. Bosse has an Metall ceramic bridge structure in the upper jaw for 20 years and his own teeth in the lower jaw. Due to certain circumstances, Bosse was affected by several caries attacks on root surfaces in the upper jaw and an increased plaque value, which has led to several filling therapies and redesign/transformations in bridge structures. Caries progression led to extractions and removal of the bridge construction. Bosse decides with the dentist that he wants an implanted bridge in the upper jaw.
- How many implant screws should be used and why?
- What do we need to consider before using implants in this patient?
Case 3.
The dentist will cement a bridge 13, 12, (11 hanging joints), 21 and 22 made of Porcelain crowns on Hilda which is 78 years old.
- Give examples of two cement that you can use to cement with?
- Explain easily to the patient what a bridge with hanging joint means?
- Explain the risks of this and possible side effects of porcelain crowns?
Case 4.
Doris comes to you and the dentist has told her that he will do root canal treatment on 36 which has an infection at the root tip. She doesn’t understand what root canal treatment is.
- Explain to the patient the working process so she understands!
- Give examples of materials that you can use to put as bandage/compress/inlay between the cleanups?
- What do you use to flush/clean when cleaning of the tooth, and with what material do you use to do a root canal treatment of your tooth?
- What kind of filling material do you think your dentist will fix your tooth with?
