Midterm Assignment
Prepare a fictional jewellery wholesale business of that has been affected by eCommerce (either negatively or positively). You produce jewellery and sell it to retailers. Pick a country/region as a potential new market for your firm’s operations. Using what you have learned in this course, other courses, and online resources write a report with the following structure:
prepare an introduction about your company or product / service include the background, owners, history in the market, etc. (10%).
Analyze how technology has had an effect on that business and how technology may help (or not) your global expansion. These effects can be positive or negative, but you are required to support your analysis with factual data (not just your opinion). provide a unique prospective to your analysis. One that has not been discussed or an innovative solution to a common problem (25%).
Assess the local political, economic, legal factors of the country/region. To that end, conduct a SWOT analysis of your firm. Consider ethical and cultural issues of your chosen country. (25%).
Consider local and foreign competition (state your competitors in your analysis) (20%)
Would you recommend to your senior management that your firm establishes operations and invest in this country? What factors do you think are most important in this decision? Present your case to your senior management team giving all of the reasons for or against the global decision. (20%)
