literature review is 3 chapters:
My first chapter supposed to focus on on the current social policy and legislation around that group and foster care. Are social workers restricted in to fully support this group due to legislation and social policies and what do they do in practice in the U.K. ? How do social workers promote social justice when working with this group? Does the law in the and social policies in the U.K. restrict social workers to promote social justice and equality?
Second chapter supposed to focus on the voice of the child? Explaining that listening to the voice of the child is one way in promoting social justice and applying anti-oppressive practice. Are social workers able to fully listen to the voice of the child in question that is in foster care in the current neoliberal social work climate and what do social workers do in practice? Is there an extra barrier due to the fact that they are unaccompanied asylum seekers? How do we promote AOP for the foster Carers and the UAS?
The last chapters supposed to focus on the transition period for this group and the challenges around this. ( The route for unaccompanied asylum seekers children that have to go through transition is different to other looked after children) What happens if they are no longer legal to stay in this country when they turn 18? If they are legal to stay do we as social worker treat them the same as other looked after children in transition ? What is the legislation regarding transition of this group? Is there enough support for this group? How do we promote social justice to this group in transition ?
