PERT Chart Instructions
PERT charts are used when trying to find slack time to reduce the non-value added time in a process. Frequently useful in project management, the PERT chart provides benchmark times for process steps and creates a logical flow for the process.
PERT charts can be formatted in many ways, but please refer to the example in Figure 3.4 on page 70 of the textbook for the cells with 7 divisions.
Create a PERT chart for the process in the below scenario using Microsoft Excel (follow the cell template in Figure 3.4 on page 70 of the course textbook).
You call your physician to obtain a refill for your prescription. Create a PERT chart that includes all the steps of taking your medication.

Actual times need to be in the Early-Start, Early-Finish, Late-Start, and Late-Finish cells.
