Philosophy and Science
It can be highlighted that philosophy perpetually grows to be obsolete with the growth and maturation of scientific conceptualizations as a false assumption (Goldstein, 2014, p. 1). In this regard, it can be connoted that philosophy still continues to serve a purpose even with the advent growth and development of science. The activities attributed to science are systematic observations, experimentations, testing and the formulation of hypotheses. On the other hand, philosophy is connoted to be linked to consciousness and the denoted as the generative power of science. The paper is purposed at deciphering the position philosophy holds with the growing influence and developments in the scientific arenas.
Notably, the discussion can be denoted to be philosophical and hence by extension; philosophy cannot die or be dead. Currently, science is the principal form of knowledge in the world today. It is plausible to denote that one cannot argue for science without utilizing philosophical argumentation. However, it can be highlighted that there exist two conflicting schools of thought as regards the superiority of science over philosophy. Most physicists and cosmologists are opinionated as concerns the dominance of physical science (Stenger, Lindsay, & Boghossian, 2015, p. 1). On the other hand, Baggini shares the notion that there are issues attributed to human existence that cannot be explained scientifically (Stenger, Lindsay, & Boghossian, 2015, p. 1).
Einstein propagated the ideology that many scientists seem to be equated to an individual who has seen many trees but never actually laid eyes on a forest (Howard, 2015, p. 1). On this note, Einstein reiterates that historical and philosophical backgrounds award the type of independence from partiality from which many scientists continue to bear (Howard, 2015, p. 1). In this sense. It can be expressed that a successful scientific theory requires philosophy to be capable of supporting itself. It can be resolved that with the growth of science, philosophy continues to alleviate as it is a component part of scientific methodology, hypothesis formulations and argumentation.
