Background: My patient was a 25-year-old female who had received a total left hip replacement. She stated her pain as 10 out of 10 on the pain rating scale with the pain not subsiding throughout the day.She received a total hip replacement due to being diagnosed with avascular necrosis which caused her entire left hip to collapse. Due to her pain, she was prescribed Dilaudid and received it every one and a half hours, alternating between IV and PO, with continuously monitored blood pressure. She was also working with PT and OT and needed to have pain medications before performing these activities. (THIS SHOULD BE THE FOCUS OF THE PAPER.) She also has a history of anemia, arthritis, and seizures.
