I am applying for a reputed university to pursue my master’s program. I have a bachelor degree and have around 12 years of work experience in the Information Technology field. The program I am applying for is a hybrid program with technical and leadership courses. It is a 1-year extensive program covering a range of topics from technical, leadership and project management skills.

I need to get a reference letter from my current project manager. I am working with him close to 3years now. He is well aware of my technical competency and leadership qualities. I want to capture the details on how he highly regards my both technical and leadership skills. How I am good at resolving critical technical problems, how I engage with clients/partners, taking ownership of issues, driving innovation, keep updating myself technically and manage junior subordinates of me. Also should highlight my extracurricular activities, like enjoying playing cricket and showing leadership qualities in those activities. as well. Since he is involved with my day to day activities, he should highlight my desire to take up new challenges/roles and how I have grown over this period of years. Finally, he should recommend how best I will fit for this program, given my background and career goals.
