Instructions:
Read the assigned articles (pages 1-13 of the eReadings Booklet).
Write a 3-4 page paper reflecting on the topic.
Your paper should be doublespaced with 12-point font and one-inch margins.
Title, author, headings, etc. are not counted in the length.
Your paper should include the following 4 sections:
Introduction, Summary, Analysis and Response, Conclusion
Be sure to use the Writing Assignment Grading Rubric (see the attached document above) to understand what you are expected to include in each section of your paper and for guidelines about the length of each section. This rubric is your roadmap to successful completion of this assignment – Use it!
Your paper should convey your thoughts about the readings. You may choose to do this in a number of different ways. For example,
You may ‘take a side’ about the topic discussed in the readings. Then, write about why you are taking that side. Use specific points, details, and/or examples from the articles to support your stance.
You may critique the authors’ arguments. The articles are based on the authors’ opinions (although the authors do, at times, use research to support their ideas). Discuss strengths and/or weaknesses of the authors’ arguments. Use specific points, details, and/or examples from the articles to support your ideas.
You may use the ‘Critical Thinking and Reflection’ questions at the end of the articles to help you think of other ways to analyze and reflect on the topic.
