The final paper this semester is a paper in which you discuss your research methods and explore a preliminary analysis of key themes from your data. The total length requirement is 5-7 pages, and you must include a bibliography. You should discuss two areas in the paper:
Methods (2 pages):
In this section, you must describe your research question, research methods, ethics, and data analysis techniques, specifically referencing at least 3-course readings about the concepts (I have attached PDFs). Title section Methods. Use the citations on the syllabus for your bibliography and use proper citation practices. The section must include a discussion of all the following questions:
• What research question guided this study?
• What methods did you use to gather your data?
• What measures did you take to ensure you followed the key ethical principles in your research, such as doing no harm, ensuring confidentiality, getting informed consent (be specific)?
• What methodological challenges did you face?
• What methods of data analysis did you employ in the research?
Data Analysis (3-5 pages):
In this section, you must explore the key themes that you found to be most significant in your data. You should discuss themes that came up in your data – think about, what does your data help you understand about your research question? Include examples from your data. Some questions you could explore in this discussion include:
• What did you learn about your topic by gathering this data?
• What do you feel you “know” about your topic now from gathering your data?
• What specific themes or patterns in your data did you notice that illuminate aspects of your research question?
• What limitations do you have in understanding your research question after gathering this data?
• What questions were not answered and what are you curious to learn more about after gathering your data?
The writing in this section can be a pretty free form (even free written) but read it over before handing it in to make sure it’s grammatically reasonable and clean of typos.
Paper Requirements:
• 5-7 pages + reference page
• Parenthetical citations and reference page ASA format
• 12 point font, double spaced
