Prompt:
In the last couple of weeks, you have confronted with major social problems related to family, work and economy, media, and education. This prompt relates to a recent problem we all experienced (still experiencing maybe)- the pandemic.
First, discuss how you are experiencing social change of some sort on a personal level as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Obviously, we are all now performing college courses remotely. Are there other changes you are experiencing on a personal level right now that are tied to the social response to COVID-19? How have these affected you? Are you experiencing social change around COVID-19 as a personal trouble?
Second, connect one personal change (this could be a personal trouble or some change that is neutral or even positive) you are experiencing that is related to some social institution(s) in the United States. You will want to define social institutions (preferably in your own words) and describe some characteristics of them as they apply to your case. How is change happening, or not, in this institution? Does this (lack of) change represent a larger social problem?
