You will describe the family dynamics using social work concepts and theories of family system and other family theories that you may select. You will then offer a brief plan for intervening with the family. 1. In one paragraph, briefly summarize the story of the film: beginning, middle, and end. 2. Describe the family structure and dynamics (e.g. coalitions, sub-systems, hierarchy, communication styles, power, roles etc…). What is the shared family story? How do family members explain the process in the family? What is a central, thematic family conflict and/or crisis? 3. Pick one of the family members, and explain how the central conflict and/or crisis impacts his/her development and behavior 4. Identify one clinical task that you would address with an individual or subsystem, or with the whole family, if you had the opportunity to intervene in this family.
