TAKIMAKI internalisation

The assignment is focused on 2 questions based on a case study that is on the attachments. I have attached both parts of the case study. In order to understand it a little better, I have also added the first assignment of this module.

The first question is based on corporate social responsibility:

understand the concepts surrounding Corporate Social Responsibility and their application in the international business environment.

Lecture notes attached.

The second question is based on the Automotive industry:

Appraise the importance of the Automotive Industry and the challenges the potential of electrical powertrains will present for the electronics industry more widely.

Lecture attached.

Lecturer’s Advice:

I received a few questions regarding the time-constrained assignment and instead of responding individually, I thought it was better to share my comments with everyone.

1) What word count should we aim for, for each question? Also, should the first essay be longer than the second? There is no strict word count, but for the first part you should aim at around 1800-2200 words (as it gets 60% of the marks) and for the second part around 1200-1500 words.
2) How should we structure the two answers? Should the CSR essay look at the five key factors that TAKIMAKI should focus on as separate paragraphs and go into detail on each factor, relating that to TAKIMAKI? In the first part you should give the definition of CSR, briefly discuss its importance and talk about the 5 key areas – with plenty of examples from your winner country. Also, think about the advice you would give to Takimaki in this situation.
3) Would social innovation come into both questions of just the second question which relates more to products? It will be useful to have country-specific information on social innovation (to use in the first part), but you should also think about links between potential products and social innovation. So yes, you will need it in both parts.
4) Do we write in first person as a manger of TAKIMAKI, or as a separate party offering advice? I don’t mind either – you could use either.
5) Do we need to include any tables/figures such as a balance scorecard or weighted analysis? No, you don’t need balance scorecard or weighted analysis, but you can use any tables/figures/illustrations/pictures you think can add value.
