You will look up “TED Talks” Find a story you’re interested in and write 2 pages on it. Watch the whole video with a length of 12 Min.
Intro 1) Provides a hook related to speakers subject to keep the reader reading, includes transition sentence at the end.
Background information 1) Provides readers with information on both TED and the speaker. (Basically how the website TED Talk works). This will include an underlined thesis statement and will include speakers last name., an adjective to describe the talk, and three directions for your summary paragraphs. Thesis concludes this paragraph.
Three body paragraphs – With topic sentences that use key terms from thesis. Concrete examples and important quotations from the piece will be part of body parapraphs. Exhibits a good understanding of the differences in summarizing, paraphrasing, and direct quoting. Ends with a transition.
Conclusion- Avoids rehearsing thesis statement and/or ideas in body paragraphs. Brings up a new point that invites readers to continue thinking about the subject of this TED Talk.
