Answer the following question in essay form in the space provided on the following page.

The current COVID-19 pandemic is affecting families around the world, who live in very diverse conditions. Child protection experts are advising that the risk of violence against children is increasing.
Start by thinking about the problem.
a. Select ONE of the following forms of violence on which to focus your answer: commercial sexual exploitation, punitive violence, psychological violence, OR filicide.
b. Place yourself mentally into the home of a typical (hypothetical) family living in your neighbourhood.
c. Think about the factors being created and/or amplified by COVID-19 that could contribute to that form of violence against the children in that family.
d. Think about what we could do differently to mitigate (reduce the impact of) those factors.
Then start writing your answer in two parts.
Part 1: Begin your answer by identifying five factors that are being created and/or amplified by COVID-19 and explaining how each factor could contribute to the form of violence you selected. Remember to think at various levels of the human/social ecology, as you have done throughout the course.
Part 2: Explain how Sweden’s social policies could be helping to reduce the impact of each of those five factors during this crisis.
