Supply chain management principles will help in reducing the operation cost and total landing cost of a product. 2:purchase of cereal involves a long supply. Chain service involved. It starts from the procurement of raw cerals from the faers by an agent then comes the processing of raw cerals which includes cleaning and conversion of raw to graded cereals and packaging. Then it includes bulk purchase of packets of cereals by wholesalers then it get transferred to distributors and then it get stored in warehouse and delivered to the retailers based in their orders which is driven by customer demand from the market.
3:while ordering tv through Amazon website. The Amazon is a common marketplace which has lot of vendors / suppliers.Based on the order placed the Amazon connect with suppliers who can serve that particular location. The suppliers will place order with the distribution agents for that particular product ( TV). They will transportation the product and deliver to suppliers cross dock locations and then it is transported to the final customer location based on the region through modes like ( air , road, rail) based on the location and service level.
Push atrategybis purely market level strategy where products are push to the market for sales where the channels will hold more stocks.at the same time pull is demand based strategy and market will create demand over a particular product and based on that it will provide information to the closest channel for production of goods.
4: Publix is a Florida based retail chain who focus mostly on employee drivn retail outlets ( brick and mortar service).one of their competitive advantage is to maintain nationality and serving customer based on their cultural demand and localised requirement. Thus they are focusing more on maintaining customers with their product categories and close customer services
Due to the globalisation and rapid technology changes Publix need to be more responsive inorder to inbuilt more level of customer services such as ordering g through online models, customer loyalty programs etc. This will.help in estimating cisto.er requirement and make their supply chain more agile in nature.
