This is an anthropology essay (ethnographic review), here are the instructions:
For Essay 2 you are required to write an analysis of one of the ethnographies from Units 5-7.
Address the following areas in your essays:
How did the author come to undertake the research?
Does the author show a particular theoretical or practical impetus to his or her research?
What approach has the author taken to discussing his or her fieldwork?
Are there any ethical issues in the research or presented by the written ethnography?
How has the author presented the results of the study?
Summarize the findings of the research.
Describe either the theoretical significance of the ethnography or its significance to the community.
What is your response to the ethnography and to the community the author presents?
Your essay should follow appropriate essay format and should include an Introduction section, a Conclusions, or Summary and Conclusions section, and a References or Bibliography section in addition to the main body of the paper. Overall length should be about 8-10 pages (2000-3000 words), double-spaced except for your references section. If it will help the readability of your essay, you may use additional headings within the body of your essays.
