Computer-Aided Design

Assignment 5: CAD

CAD

Computer-Aided Design is the major engineering and manufacturing process planned to be involved in developing coaching applications. The CAD software is commonly used by engineers, architects, drafters, and many others to build a new product. The software is very significant in manufacturing, planning, and purchasing. In developing a coaching application, the software will be impactful in providing a conducive environment for Augmented Reality (AR) (2019). Even though critics believe that AR might replace CAD in the near future, It is evident that the collaboration of the two will lead to effective production. While using CAD software in developing coaching applications, I will consider using 3D and 2D  programs like AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT software (“CAD Software | 2D And 3D Computer-Aided Design | Autodesk”, 2019). The stated program offers various design ideas as well as visualizing concepts by the use of photorealistic renderings, which will later replicate the performance of the design in reality.

Coaching applications can only be effective with proper development and installment. The availability of CAD makes it easy to develop this application. CAD offers diverse alternatives for the designer to decide which one suits the application(“Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM),” 2019). It allows designers to view the application in different and diverse dimensions. With the alternatives and ideas from every aspect, CAD software enables the proper installation of the application. Coaching involves increasing the return on the individual’s investment by guiding the person to implement changes that will influence the increase in productivity. Therefore, coaching application is meant to transform the world’s view on the coaching activity by exploring various computerized ways through which runners can enhance their skills (2019). CAD system offers multiple features, such as zoom. Zoom enables the designer to magnify specific elements in the application, thus facilitating inspection. Once the inspection is done, the designer can rectify some errors that might emerge in the process before settling on the final product.

Defects are the deviations of the actual and anticipated results of the application. Usually, defects are influenced by the developers in the process of developing a software application. Defects in the application prevent the software application from meeting the expected requirement as well as affecting its functionality. Some of these defects that are likely to occur during the application development include performance defects, arithmetic defects, and syntax defects. Performance defects are the defects that occur when the application failed to meet the desired results. When the application is unable to satisfy the user’s necessity, it is considered as Performance defects. It is a prevalent defect that exposes designers to begin the development process from the first stage. An arithmetic defect is another common defect that might emerge in the process of developing a coaching application. It is a defect made by the developers in the development process. The error usually occurs while the developers struggle to find some arithmetic expressions.

In most cases, the defect occurs as a result of excessive workload or inadequate skills. Code congestion is another factor that might influence this defect. Finally, syntax defect is also likely to occur during the layout of the coaching application. Syntax defect is based on the mistake made in writing the codes. Often, the developers end up making this mistake as a result of the escape of certain small symbols. The listed defects are the major defects that are likely to occur in the process of application development.

CAD process can help in minimizing these problems while increasing productivity. Since the procedure uses computer-based methods to encode geometrical data, it is possible for both the designing process and developing a process to be integrated. Once this occurs, the defects are likely to be destroyed, thus increasing the effectivity of the application and its productivity.
