Explain two motivational theories. and Determine which theory would work best in this scenario to help motivate employees.

As there are several motivational theories but some of theories are much effective in motivating employees and boost the productivity.
Basically two theories that more effective in motivating the employees are as follow-
Expectancy theory of motivation – Expectancy theory of motivation basically proposes an employee will behave a certain ways because they are motivated to select a specific behaviour over other behaviours due to what they expect the result of that selected behaviour.
Theory is more focusing employee hike in pay due to the performance development.
Expectancy theory based on three elements-
Expectancy – Performance
Instrumentality – Outcome
Valence – Rewards
Managers are using this motivational theory to creasing the performance or outcome of employees.
Rewards are based on outcomes of employees that make the employees more focus towards performance.
Maslow’s hierarchy needs- Abraham Maslow was a psychologist in 1943 developed A Theory of Human Motivation that theory mainly based on satisfaction of common or basic need of employee.
Employees basic need must be meet out so that he can achieve higher goals.
These hierarchy of need have five steps –
Physiological need- Its very basic need of every employee for survival like food, water and shelter.
Safety –Personal and financial safety and security like health and wellbeing.
Love/belonging- Employees need of friendship, relationships and family.
Esteem- Employee must have high level of confidence.
Self –actualisation- A level of desire to achieve everything and in this situation individuals work with good productivity.
