For your initial post, imagine you are an HR manager for a company that has a large call center. The call center manager wants your help initiating a 360-degree appraisal for his call center representatives. In your initial post, discuss whether you would encourage or discourage this and why. Describe what conditions would need to be in place in order for a 360-degree appraisal process to be effective with the call center staff.

I would encourage the 360-degree appraisal process because it helps in performance assessment for and employee in all the dimensions such as feedback from stakeholder with in the team or outside the team, peers, supervisors at various roles and levels, customer feedback, with no bias and various perspectives. It is important to have an effective objective and clarity on the goal of 360-degree appraisal to be performed. At the same time this assessment helps an employee at individual development by keeping a self-improvement plans to overcome any kinds of gaps. Another perspective for 360-degree appraisal, this should be discouraged if the entire process is complex in nature and affecting an employee negatively by leaving dislikes among peers or may have conflicted feedbacks or sometimes people who gives the feedback does not take the matter seriously to provide the genuine assessment etc. Hence, to ensure the effectiveness of 360-degree appraisal process taken place for the call center staff, it is always better to explain the importance of the process, how it will take place and take feedbacks from the staff on the entire process.
