In the last two centuries the United States of America has a gone a long way and has actually changed from an agricultural nation to an industrialized one and the reason that is considered behind this is the industrial revolution that occurred in the 18th and 19th century and changed the total base of USA and the numbers proved that the change is intense as during the late 18th century only 1 out of 20 people lived in cities which was about 5% of the total population and if we look today we will see that 4 out of 5 people live in cities which is around 80% of the total population. We can also state in this context that urbanization played a huge role and developed the nation to its peak and we can actually see the results today because it is considered to be the most developed country of the world.
Due to urbanization we actually made a shift from agriculture to industry and there were other changes too that happened in the American Society and it included benefits as well as disadvantages. The benefits were usage of natural resources and the ideas were exchanged through communication which ensured that the society was communicating constructively. The urbanized areas or cities provided opportunities for the rural population to work and due to this the overall transport cost of the country decreased. Education was considered to be the weapon against all evils and was forwarded effectively so that the rural areas are urbanized more and more. With all these advantages some disadvantages also cropped up and was regarding the population increase because urbanized areas had more population in comparison to other areas and due to this rise in population all of a sudden the hazards started to increase.
Other social affects like Poverty decreased transport increased, crime increased to some extent and there it even decreased due to increase in employment. The lifestyle of the individuals changed a lot and it was on a better note because the economy change did change various aspects of the country.
