How does health care services marketing differ from retail marketing? Provide examples from both the health care and the retail sector.

Answer: The health care service marketing is different from the retail marketing
The health care marketing is based on real needs of the people while the retail marketing is based on creating need. For example a patient suffering from a chronic disease essentially needs a treatment. Health care marketing is directed at this need while in retail there is an impulse buying like a person who may not need to purchase a chocolate is attracted through promotional schemes and attractive packaging of the chocolate.
In Healthcare marketing the customers make their decisions based on deep analysis of the information hence information plays an important role in the health care marketing. While in retail marketing, the decisions are routine decisions in which information does not plays a significant role. For example a customer looking for a good hospital will collect information from all sources while a person purchasing a tooth paste will not.
Health care marketing is subjected to strict regulations and guidelines while in retail marketing the regulations and standards are not very strict
