Job enrichment is a process where by employees are identified and given more responsibilities and less of repetitive work. The additional works or responsibilities are based on the skill set of the employees and their loyalty towards the company.
The management usually enriches job as a method to understand and identify the attitude and level of employee morale. Employee often get bored by doing the same repetitive work. When they are given challenging jobs and responsibilities they come up with new ideas and techniques. The main challenges while implementing job enrichment comes when the wrong person is given additional responsibilities. They will neither take it as a positive change nor will they allow other employees to cooperate. They will ruin the synergy of the system.
Management overcame this issue by forming groups where in like minded people cooperated for the benefit of the company and thereby rewarding them suitably by means of increments and promotions.
