Job enrichment is important for making the position attractive and fulfilling for the employee. There are several goals for the organization related to employee job fulfillment, reduction of turnover, improvement of employee productivity etc.
The local company I worked with focused on enhancing the job positions of the staff. There was vertical job loading used for this purpose. It focused on providing the employees with extra work and not making any changes to the challenge level.
The company followed the process of brainstorming, followed by reviewing the option and shortlisting important ones.
It removed the controls while it focused on retaining accountability.
There was focus given on increasing accountability of an individual and providing additional authority for the employees.
It involved making periodic reports that were provided to the workers directly instead of the supervisors.
There were difficult tasks assigned to the them and the focus was on making them experts
They were allowed to review the option against the goals.
