There are three models of service delivery namely medical model, human service model, and public health model. Human service model focuses on providing the services that helps an individual (client) in solving their problems. This model assumes that problems are inevitable part of human life which is comprised of the people, systems and environment around us. These problems might occur due to the thoughts, behavior or feelings of an individual. This model helps an individual in learning the problem solving process so that he may no longer need the services.
As per my opinion, self-esteem and sense of responsibility are the two most important components of this model. Both of these are considered as a crucial part of the human service model, because it helps an individual in gaining the strength to deal with the problems in their life. Self-esteem refers to the perception of an individual about him/her. A person having high self-esteem tend to perform better than those having lower self-esteem. For example, a student having high self-esteem would have better scores and higher motivation towards his/her studies. Similarly, sense of responsibility is also an inevitable component of the model. A person having high sense of responsibility would perform his/her work more efficiently without the supervision as compared with those having low sense of responsibility. Sense of responsibility fosters the desire in a client to deal with problems in a better way. Hence, both the selected components are essential part of this model.
