After looking at the results from the previous case, I wanted to select a new case that would give you the opportunity to practice a more thorough analysis of the external environment as well as Porter’s Five Forces. This case study focuses on Krispy Kreme DonutsPreview the document. and gives you the perfect opportunity to focus on changes in the demographic, socio-cultural, and political-legal environments, among others. Additionally, this is a fairly easy case to analyze the Industry Environment.
This is how the case should be formatted:
Case Analysis – summarize case issue and current business level strategy (1 paragraph)
External Environment
General Environment – report on 5 of the 7 segments (5 paragraphs)
Industry Environment – Porter’s 5 forces (5 paragraphs)
Competitive Environment – report on the top 3 competitors (3 paragraphs)
SWOT analysis – box with 4 paragraphs (1 paragraph for Strengths, Weaknesses, etc)
Strategic Recommendation and Implementation (2 paragraphs)
Resource list in the APA format – don’t forget to include in-text citations throughout paper
We did not do the Strategic Recommendation section in the last case study. In that section, I am looking for you to assess their current BUSINESS LEVEL strategy in one paragraph (the one that you identified from the Company Analysis section), then discuss the disadvantages of sticking with that strategy. In a separate paragraph, you will discuss the NEW business-level strategy that Krispy Kreme should pursue instead. In that paragraph you will discuss the advantages of switching to the new strategy and how the company will implement it. Please reach out via email, chat or conference to discuss any questions.
