You should if possible interview the change leader face to face. If face to face interviewing is infeasible you may use telephone or Skype. Do not rely on email as the sole means of communication.
Identify your chosen interviewee as soon as practicable, explain the project and obtain the interviewee’s agreement to cooperate.
Advise the interviewee that initial interview should last approximately one hour and that you may need to have a one or more follow up interviews or correspond by email /phone.
Develop a set of questions that you plan to ask the change leader and send them to him/her in advance of the meeting (see below).
Plan to record the interview if possible on tape/digitally so you can refer to it later (advise the interviewee and obtain consent to this).
