MANAGING EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION

Topic: Managing Employee Motivation
Scenario:
You are the executive manager over 3 divisions. In one of your divisions, the following realities exist.
Business is down.
Apathy among employees is relatively widespread.
Grumbling from employees about middle management’s micromanagement techniques is reported by HR.
Turnover is increasing.
Instructions:
Essays must be 5-6 pages in length (excluding cover & reference page) and formatted in APA style. Exploration essay will require at least 6 scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles which deal with the motivational theories.
You are going to develop a plan whereby you can take your knowledge of motivation theories and apply them in this situation.
Each bullet should be thoroughly explored in your essay. Be sure you provide roughly equal coverage to all 4 bullets:
Using one motivation theory, explain how apathy in an individual employee might occur.
Using a second motivation theory, explain why employees may seek employment elsewhere.
Using a third motivation theory, explain how individual motivation is related to the approach of management.
Finally, bring things together and an develop a plan that could offer a potential resolution to the employee motivation challenges.
