Mechanics Of Project 2 Historical Context And Introduction

Dear Students,
I like to provide some instructional insights into Project 2: “Historical Context and Introduction.” Sometimes we learn best by seeing an example so I have provided a sample paper at this link: Sample Paper for Project 2
In this project, you will only write the introductory paragraph with a thesis, the historical context of your topic, the impact of how you see the historical context impacted your event citing one or two of your sources. For this assignment, you will need two of the primary and secondary sources that you have already worked with during Week 3, 4, and 5. In the end, list your sources – make sure to follow the template provided in the course room. Yes, you already have a lot the information so, transfer the information you already have from the Week 4 and 5 Assignments and Discussion Board as applicable – then add additional information as needed. It will create a “mini-research report,” please see the mechanics below:

Research Plan
Research Question: [Revised research question from the Week 5 Historical Context Chart.]
Introduction
1. Three- to five-sentence discussion of background information about your historical event to capture the interest of your audience and should also include:
2. Add the thesis statement from the Week 5 Historical Context Chart or Discussion based on your research question that addresses your historical event and explains how your event has been influenced by historical context.
3. A two- to three-sentence explanation of how you will use the primary and secondary sources you listed in the Research Plan in your hypothetical research paper.
Historical Context:
1. Three- to five-sentences explaining of your event’s historical context. Summarize the topic using primary and secondary sources. In other words, what was going on in the world/area/society around the event? You have a good start on the Week 5 Context Chart – now add some additional information to meet 2-5 sentences.
2. Make sure to cite your sources that you are using to base the historical context on. (Heads Up: Failure to cite your sources will result in point reduction on two places of the rubric and dip the grade to a C.)
Impact of Historical Context:
1. Write three- to five-sentences discussing how historical context impacted your event – again you have a good start on the Week 5 Context Chart – just add more information as needed to meet the 3-5 sentences. Discuss how the historical context impacted the topic. For instance, what was happening in the world/area/society around the event that impacted how it occurred?
2. Make sure to cite your sources that you are using to base the historical context on. (Heads Up: Failure to cite your sources will result in point reduction on two places of the rubric and dip the grade to a C.)
